“Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.”

Education/Resources

Dr. Lawerence W. Long’s commitment to continuing medical education led him to host clinics attended by doctors from South Carolina and the greater Southwest. It was through the clinics that one of his attendees, Dr. Charles Drew, later pioneered the preservation of life-saving blood plasma; this medical innovation continues to save millions of lives.

At the Dr. Lawrence W. Long Resource Center, his legacy of providing access to educational resources continues. Whether the need involves housing issues, healthcare concerns, food insecurity, employment, or economic development, we believe that education empowers creating new pathways to progress and self-determination.
