UCCRP welcomes Professor Florence Akara from Kenya

On April 1, 2024, the UCCRP hosted Professor Flo in partnership with USC-UNION's Spring II African American Experience (201) class led by Dr. Tekla Johnson. The UCCRP and USC-Union has a long relationship of shared opportunities to engage with students and faculty about the history and service of the Union Community Hospital and the agencies that provide services from this historic building. See the USC-Union flyer for information about the overall visit from the cultural ambassadors.

This Education event highlighted some of the history on display at the Dr. Lawrence W. Long Resource Center along with the vision for the future renovation of the facility. That vision seeks to continue a legacy of service for another 100 years in Union, SC.

These events help to bring awareness to the Center while providing non-profit partners a space to continue their individual missions.
