The mission of the Dr. Lawrence W. Long Resource Center, to provide services of support to members of the community, was born out of its namesakes’ commitment to help educate, empower, and build brighter futures for those in need.


Dr. Lawrence W. Long's legacy is a testament to the power of resilience, dedication, and unwavering commitment to equality. His life's work not only transformed healthcare in Union County but also set a precedent for future generations to challenge and overcome barriers in any form. Dr. Long's enduring spirit and impactful achievements continue to inspire a vision of a more equitable world, proving that change is possible with determination and compassion.

Education

At the Dr. Lawrence W. Long Resource Center, his legacy of providing access to educational resources continues.

Community Support

The Dr. Lawrence W. Long Resource Center is a community of non-profits who have come together under one roof to provide ongoing support and resources to the residents of Union.

Dr. Lawrence W. Long, a lifelong leader in medicine, founded the Union Community Hospital, which served the Black community from 1932 to 1975.
